Featured Farmer:  Pheng Yang Produce

Naturally-grown vegetables of every variety are the specialty of Yang Country Vegetables. Mama and Papa Yang personally hand-tend their entire 16-acre garden which, at peak, supplies 70% of the produce at nearby Lakeside Supper Club.  Son, Pheng Yang runs their vegetable stand which is open four days per week and their stand at Riverwalk Market Fair on Saturdays.

Featured Artist: Pet Face Portraits

Jean Johnson, artist at Pet Face Portraits, creates custom paintings from your photo of your pet.  She explains that “I love to paint!”  She is a former Northfield resident, born and raised, the daughter of Millie and Percy Johnson.  Go to her website to order!

Featured Artist: Froehle Ceramics

Joel Froehle is a Northfield resident who creates functional pots carved to create complex textures and patterns which are further enhanced by the layers of contrasting surfaces applied to them.  His hope is that they function as both aesthetic objects on the shelf, as well as utilitarian objects in the hand.

This Saturday will likely be his last day at the market for the season so make sure to stop by and see his ceramics.  If you’d like to preview his art you can go to

Vintage Band Festival

The Vintage Band Festival is back this Saturday with 10 bands in 12 hours.  That means they have to start early, which is good news for Riverwalk Market Fair.  While browsing art and seasonal produce, enjoy the New Prague Area Community Band, Historic Fort Snelling Fifes and Drums, Sheldon Theatre Brass Band, and Twin Cities Trumpet Ensemble.   Stock up on goodies for your picnic, bring your chair, and stay all day for brass band music from civil war to old time swing and jazz.
