Dale’s Funky Glass – Dale Brown

Dale Brown uses various methods and types of glass to make unique pieces of fused glass art including: plates and platters, trivet plates, business card holders, sushi plates, and pendants/cabachons.

Some works have eye-popping color accentuated by seemingly simplistic curved lines that balance the art and others have playful swirls. Dale enjoys the interaction of colors and the patterns that form with his work.

Dale also teaches in the Art Dept at Normandale College in the areas of photography-traditional black & white darkroom, and computer art/digital imaging.  He also assists with glass fusing 1 & 2, and does demonstrations on beginning and advanced techniques for the students.   He’s been selling at art fairs for the past three years in the region, and offers glass fusing classes out of his studio, allowing people to create unique pieces of artwork for their friends & families.

Just Me Geralyn and Glass – Gerie Thelen

Gerie Thelen is a fused glass artisan whose wares include jewelry and various functional art such as plates, platters, and bottle stoppers.

Gerie believes that everyone has a story to tell, and her way of telling stories is through her glass. All her “stories” are assembled and kiln-fired with the utmost personal care. Each one is an original work of art.

All of the pieces have a similar cheeriness to them—with slick bright colors that are easy on the eyes. Her jewelry is created in a variety of styles; some necklace pieces look like polished rocks while others are more intricate—with overlapping shapes and angles.

The plates and platters are created in the same style (bright, fun, chic) —but she also does commission work.
