Music by Greg Smith & Craig Schuster; fresh local produce and artisan foods, the area’s finest art and crafts, all at Riverwalk Market Fair’s season closing day Saturday October 21 from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, in historic downtown Northfield’s Bridge Square.

 

Seasonal Produce from Local Farmers, Artisan Foods, Art and Fine Crafts

Local farmers have late season fall produce such as apples, squash, beets, radishes, kale, potatoes, beets, Brussel sprouts, onions, and carrots, as well as greenhouse soil-grown tomatoes, honey, maple syrup, eggs, and handmade natural soaps.

Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, cookies and cupcakes, jams and jellies, Greek sweets, and locally roasted coffee.

Jewelry, fiber art, watercolor paintings, photography, glass art, wood-working, and pottery are among the fine art and fine crafts for sale.  All art and fine crafts are original work, designed and created by the artists.

Music on October 21 by Greg Smith & Craig Schuster

Greg & Craig play large variety of music including; doo-wop, British soul, folk, old country, spiritual and patriotic music.  They also love to play music from the 50’s and 60’s genre.  They’ll be playing from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday at the Riverwalk Market Fair.

Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, cookies and cupcakes, jams and jellies, Greek sweets, and locally roasted coffee.

Featured Farmer:  The Grovestead

        

    Rory and Becca Groves are raising pastured meats; chickens, lamb, chevon (goat), and pork.  They are trying to find buyers interested in quality, organically, raised meat.  They moved to Northfield five years ago to raise their family in a more rural/natural setting.  The Groves say, “We are city kids trying our hands at living in the country, and so far, we are loving it!”  www.thegrovestead.com

Featured Artist: The Jade Dog Designs

            Darcy Horn has recently moved to Northfield and will be joining us at the market for the end of the season.  She creates jewelry that is hand beaded and formed from recycled materials.  Darcy began her beading career making art-to-wear and successfully ran her own business selling her own work online, in galleries, and at juried art shows.  For the past six years she’s evolved her beadwork techniques to make personal and political sculptures.  www.thejadedog.com

           

Music on October 7 by Helen Forsythe

    Helen Forsythe is a singer who also plays the banjo and enjoys singing bluegrass and folk music.  She’ll be playing her music on Saturday October 7th from 10-1 on Bridge Square.  Come and see her play while shopping at the Riverwalk Market Fair.

Featured Farmer:  Groveland Confections

            This is the first year for Groveland Confections at Riverwalk Market Fair and the great items have been a hit at the market.  Their sweet creations are made with everything fresh from scratch daily in our kitchen.  They use only the finest ingredients, butter, cream, vanilla and cane sugar and the best courvature milk, dark and white chocolates that have been hand selected from around the world to match the flavor profile for each of their unique confections.  www.grovelandconfections.com

 

Featured Artist: My Enough

            Birgit Feig is a Northfield resident in her first year of being a vendor at the market.  She creates high-quality, homemade, household items.  Starting with superior quality fabric, she sews each item, dye, and screen print it on one of her original designs.  The items that are sold include tablecloths, table runners, cloth napkins, and placemats.

Music on September 30th by “Just Add Banjo”

   Newly formed group, Just Add Banjo, is comprised of four ladies including; Christa Veltri, Kate McDonnell, Alicia Stencel, and Rachel McIver Morey.  They’re a music collective of women who play folk, pop, country, and originals, bringing their distinctive harmonies and instrumentations to each song.
