Music by Matt Arthur, fresh local produce and artisan foods, and the area’s finest art and craft, all at Riverwalk Market Fair, Saturday, September 29 from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, in historic downtown Northfield’s Bridge Square.

 

Seasonal Produce from Local Farmers, Artisan Foods, Art and Fine Craft

Local farmers have late summer produce such as tomatoes, sweet corn, melons, apples, green beans, snow peas, radishes, broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, Asian and head cabbage, kohlrabi, cucumber, kale, potatoes, green peppers, sweet peppers, beets, onions, carrots and herbs, as well as honey, flower bouquets, and handmade natural soaps.

Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, cookies and cupcakes, baklava, jams and jellies, shaved ice, and locally roasted coffee.

Pottery, wood hand-crafted home accessories, fused glass, photography, jewelry, painting, and fiber art are among the fine art and fine craft for sale.  All art and fine craft is original work, designed and created by the artists.

Featured Farmer/Food: Treats by T

The Hirman’s started making their ghost pepper sauce in 2012 and have added a few other items.  Their list of products includes a handful of salt seasoning mixes, dog treats, and smoked peach Fair, but people who have tasted their products fall in love! habanero jam.  Treat’s by T’s best seller is there Ghost Pepper Sauce that is both hot and sweet; a perfect combination of both.  This is their first year being a vendor at the Riverwalk Market

 

Music on September 29th from Matt Arthur

Matt Arthur is a talented musician who currently lives and performs in Northfield. His voice calls to mind Johnny Cash, John Darnielle, and Nick Cave.

Matt’s influences with his music range from Neil Young to Bob Dylan, and even the Rolling Stones.  He’ll be playing from 9 am to 1 pm on Bridge Square in Northfield

Fresh local produce and artisan foods, the area’s finest art and craft, and the Northfield Public Library Book Bike will all be on hand at the Riverwalk Market Fair, Saturday June 23 from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, in Historic Downtown Northfield’s Bridge Square.

Local farmers will be on hand with fresh-picked micro greens, alpaca fiber, soil-grown tomatoes, bedding plants, handmade natural soaps, and local honey.  Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, Greek baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup, shaved ice, and locally roasted coffee.

Photography, fiber art, jewelry, wood items, and pottery are among the art and fine crafts for sale.  All art and fine craft is original work, designed and created by the artists.

 Featured Farmer:  My Sweet Greens MN

Dean and Jayne Bredlau, owners of My Sweet Greens MN, are new vendors to the market this year in 2018.  This is their second year growing and selling microgreens.  They offer many different microgreen varieties such as sunflower, sweet peas, zesty mix, radish, and a few other “mixes” with different greens mixed together.  They are always happy to give samples of their products so make sure to stop by and visit them at Riverwalk Market Fair.  www.mysweetgreensmn.com

If your home or office needs a tropical feel, Zach Stadler’s photography would fill that void for you.  Over the last few years he’s had the pleasure of traveling to some of the most exotic destinations in the world. With the territory, he quickly developed a love for the ocean and photography naturally became his tool for capturing my surreal experiences both in and out of the water.

 Music by Alexander Ragtime Brass

            Alexander’s Ragtime Brass is a quintet comprising two trumpets, a French horn, a trombone and a tuba.  They have been very popular in the past playing at the Riverwalk Market Fair, playing arrangements, mostly of popular mid-century tunes; rock and roll, country, and more.

Riverwalk Market Fair Season Opens on June 2, 2018 Fresh Local Produce, Great Food, Art, Fine Crafts, Music from Pan-Handlers Steel Drum Band

Riverwalk Market Fair’s summer Saturday festivals kick off on Saturday, June 2 along the scenic Cannon River on the historic Northfield downtown Bridge Square.  Hours are 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine.

Favorite local artists, food & produce vendors at Opening Day

Local farmers will be on hand with fresh-picked early salad greens, spinach, rhubarb, radishes, kale, green onions, bedding plants, handmade natural soaps, maple syrup, and local honey. Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, spanakopita, jams and jellies, cake-in-a-jar, Greek specialties, and locally roasted coffee.  Veteran Riverwalk farm and food vendors on hand for opening day include Martha’s Eats and Treats, Mississippi Hills CSA, and Crack of Dawn Artisan Breads & Treats.  New to Riverwalk for opening day is My Sweet Greens.

Ceramics, photography, fused glass art, wood items, fiber art, and hand-crafted jewelry are among the art and fine crafts for sale on opening day. Featured Farmer:  Goodtree Farmstead

Goodtree Farmstead is a local They’ve been selling shaved ice as a family for two years and love making big and little kids happy on Saturday mornings.    The part that they love the most about Riverwalk Market Fair is connecting with locals as well as visitors.  They make many of their flavors from scratch and try to use locally grown ingredients from nearby farms and their farm.  Want more information on Goodtree Farmstead?  The website for the farm is www.goodtreefarmstead.com

Featured Artist:  Red Sky Beads

Becky Korbel, who lives in Montgomery, makes handcrafted jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, ankle bracelets, and children bracelets.  Most of the beads she uses are from Czechoslovakia and are glass beads.  Also, she uses gemstones, copper, and brass.  Becky sells a large variety and at affordable prices for the public.

The Pan‑handlers steel drum band was founded by Chops, Inc. Drum and Bugle Corps, serving as an alternative performance ensemble for those members interested in keeping their musical hobby going without the rigors of marching.

The Pan‑handlers can play as a steel drum duet or trio with recorded rhythm section, as a full 18-piece steel drum band with a live rhythm section, or any combination of instrumentation.  Their song list continues to grow, including everything from The Beatles to Bob Marley, from traditional to modern. This will be the second year that the Pan-Handlers Steel Drum Band will be back to play at the market and they were a huge hit in 2017!
