Riverwalk Market Fair Hosts Artist in Residence: 2Fik

September 14th, 21st, 28th & October 5th and 12th

Project Overview

Riverwalk Market Fair is honored to host Artist in Residence: 2Fik, in partnership with Carleton College. 2Fik is joining Carleton this fall to co-lead a course for them as well as engage many community partners in projects to bring art to the public out of art spaces, into the public spaces. 2Fik’s work is living performance art and photographic!

Throughout each Saturday at the Market, the public is invited to not only witness his live art performance but also have an opportunity to meet the artist in his booth, learn of his techniques, view his photographic artwork on display, and inquire about his performances that will take place all around Northfield during his stay over the next couple of months.

In addition to Riverwalk Market Fair, “The residency is designed to support productive discussion both on campus and in the greater community. In addition to visiting Carleton campuses and holding regular office hours, 2Fik will host performances and workshops at the Northfield Arts Guild, the Northfield Public Library, Northfield Public Schools, and nearby St. Olaf College. He will also spend time at Macalester College in St. Paul.”

Artist Bio

“Born in Paris to Moroccan parents, 2Fik works in Montreal as a photographer, model, stylist and artistic director—always encouraging people to question what they see. His art attempts to tackle the multiplicities of identity. Whether behind the camera or the subject of a photograph, 2Fik confronts the boundaries placed around identities and the expectations imposed by gender.”    Courtesy of Carleton College.
