Riverwalk Market Fair announces its 2011 season

Northfield’s Riverwalk Market Fair, an artists’ and farmers’ market inaugurated in 2010, is now accepting vendor applications for its 2011 season.

The event will be open each Saturday from June 4 – Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the Cannon River in downtown Northfield. Last year the event attracted an estimated 12,000 visitors. Participants and supporters anticipate another successful season ahead!

Visitors to the market can find artisan breads, pastries and coffees, a bounty of fresh, organic produce and cut flowers as well as outstanding examples of the region’s fine ceramics, original paintings and prints, and unusual fine craft items.  Some Saturdays offer strolling entertainment, plein air art demonstrations and other special events.

Applications from both farmers and artists are juried. Applicants need to be local producers of their own products and goods. Vendors can specify the dates they wish to participate. Priority applications are due April 21st to secure limited stall spaces.

Riverwalk Market Fair, Northfield’s newest tradition, complements the town’s already well-established, flourishing art and local food community and provides a unique open-air venue that invites the community to participate while offering a distinct attraction to out-of-town visitors.
