Music by Russell Franek, Jewelry, Art and Fine Crafts, Handmade Natural Soaps, Local Produce and Artisan Foods at August 12 Riverwalk Market Fair

Music by Russell Franek, fresh local produce and artisan foods, the area’s finest art and crafts, and the Northfield Public Library Book Bike, all at Riverwalk Market Fair, Saturday August 12 from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, in historic downtown Northfield’s Bridge Square.

 

Seasonal Produce from Local Farmers, Artisan Foods, Art and Fine Crafts

Local farmers have early summer produce including fresh-picked romaine, green and red butter lettuce, Swiss chard, arugula, kale, kohlrabi, fennel, rhubarb, spinach, radishes, green onions, garlic scapes, peas, potatoes, zucchini, cilantro, broccoli, and herbs, as well as local soil-grown tomatoes, and handmade natural soaps.  Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, cookies and cupcakes, jams and jellies, and locally roasted coffee.

Wood hand-crafted home accessories, jewelry, fiber art, watercolor paintings, photography, glass art, and pottery are among the fine art and fine crafts for sale.  All art and fine crafts are original work, designed and created by the artists.

Featured Farmer:  Sogn Velley Farm

            Tim Mahle and his partner Jody Britz farm in Cannon Falls, more precisely Sogn Valley.  They sell almost anything you can grow; specializing in tomatoes, strawberries, and potatoes.  The farms vegetables are grown without chemicals and are grown organically although not yet certified.  The website for Sogn Valley Farm is www.sognvvalley.com

Featured Artist: Idlewilde

Cheryl is a new vendor to Riverwalk Market Fair in 2017 and she makes artisan soy candles with hand-crafted fragrances.  The fragrances are true and strong, clean burning, and all natural.  If you’d like to see some of her craft go to http://idlewildefragrance.myfreesites.net/ or come down to the market!

Russell Franek to play August 12 at Riverwalk Market Fair

            Russell, a Northfield area native, will be playing his guitar and singing classic rock, southern rock, and country music this Saturday.  He has a few different bands that he is a part of including his new solo project Harley & the Butcher plus the 8th Street Band.  http://www.the8thstreetband.com
