Wood hand-crafted home accessories, jewelry, fused glass art, pottery, fiber art, metal garden sculpture, and photography are among the fine art and fine craft for sale. All art and fine craft is original work, designed and created by the artists.
Featured Farmer: Seasons Fresh Produce
Kia Vang, her husband Sai Vue, and her two youngest boys do all the farming on their 10 acres near Hastings and Rosemount. Farming since 2003, they have developed a bountiful selection of pesticide-free vegetables and beautiful big-headed flowers like lilies and sunflowers which they bring to market every week. You can find everything from snow peas, potatoes, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers to beans, raspberries and their specialty ground cherries at their booth in season.
Featured Artist: Cathy Collison of Trinket Foundry
Cathy thinks of herself as a maker, and “finds it hard to stick to one medium.” Favorites are glass and metal, preferably in the form of already-used materials because she likes the process of transforming them into something new. She turns bottle caps into beads which in turn become jewelry, and old wine bottles into bangle bracelets, necklaces and drinking glasses, after they have been cut and tumbled to a beautiful, soft finish. She also works colorful glass into gorgeous ornaments.
Featured Artist: Dave Peterson
David Peterson describes his work as primarily simple shapes, created spontaneously at the lathe from a single raw blank, in common native species. Most of the wood he uses is harvested on his small property, given to him by friends, found lying in someone’s woods, or rescued from more unlikely spots. His brother-in-law has been bringing him interesting woods from Phoenix—juniper, acacia, and mesquite. This season, Dave has added turned covered boxes, mortar and pestle sets, and candleholders.
