Jewelry, Art and Fine Crafts, Handmade Natural Soaps, Local Produce and Artisan Foods at September 15, 2018 Riverwalk Market Fair

Music from Russell Franek; fresh local produce and artisan foods, the area’s finest art and crafts, and the Northfield Public Library Book Bike, all at Riverwalk Market Fair, Saturday September 15 from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, in historic downtown Northfield’s Bridge Square.


Seasonal Produce from Local Farmers, Artisan Foods, Art and Fine Crafts

Local farmers have summer produce including tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, green peppers, sweet peppers, eggplant, patty pan squash, romaine, green and red butter lettuce, cabbage, Swiss chard, arugula, kale, kohlrabi, fennel, snow peas, spinach, radishes, green onions, potatoes, cilantro, broccoli, apples, and herbs, as well as flower and handmade natural soaps.

Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, cookies and cupcakes, jams and jellies, and locally roasted coffee.

Jewelry, fiber art, watercolor paintings, photography, glass art, wood-working, and pottery are among the fine art and fine crafts for sale.  All art and fine crafts are original work, designed and created by the artists.

Featured Farmers: Chromatic Catering

Gwen Anderson, from right here in Northfield, has had a great first year as a vendor.  Her paella is made with all locally sourced ingredients from the Northfield and surrounding areas make her stand a hit every time she’s there.  Gwen starts the day by making a breakfast type paella with bacon, sausage, and optional duck egg topping.  After that is devoured she moves on to a brunch type paella with local sausage, braised turkey, and locally-grown shrimp as a optional topping.  Each plate has the option of being made gluten-free and vegan topping options as well.  Get their early on Saturday to gobble up a plate of Gwen’s delicious offerings! 

Featured Artist: Kids for Thought

             Charlotte Babler, author and publisher, is back at the Riverwalk Market Fair for the 2018 season.  She has written and published eleven children books thus far and they range in topics from; I Wonder a series all about wondering thoughts for kids, Gilbert and Tootie Make Soup, Moms Stew, plus three books all about spring, autumn, and winter.  Charlotte also has done pre-school curriculum; perfect for in-home child care providers.

Music on September 15th from Russell Franek

            Northfield raised, Russell Franek, will be performing on Saturday September 15, 2018 at the Riverwalk Market Fair.  Russell is known for his great guitar playing, soulful sounding voice, and people really enjoy the music he plays.  He’s also a part of two other bands; Harley and the Butcher and The 8th Street Band.
