Featured Artist Dale Brown

Dale Brown, Dales's Funky GlassDale Brown has been experimenting, learning, and trying new glass fusing techniques for the past 9 years.  He enjoys making and pre-fusing pieces that can be used as design elements in larger pieces.  He currently employs techniques including wire melts, pattern flow bars, venetian cane, and kiln cast pendants.  His pieces are often fired 3 times, the edges are cold worked, and then the artwork is either hand or kiln polished to finish it off.  Dale says, “I love opening up the kiln to see what has happened & how the glass has been transformed.”

Featured Artist David Peterson

david peterson & bowls 2014 croppedDavid Peterson describes his work as primarily simple shapes, created spontaneously at the lathe from a single raw blank, in common native species. Most of the wood he uses is harvested on his small property, given to him by friends, found lying in someone’s woods, or rescued from more unlikely spots. Recently he’s been working even in buckthorn. Dave says, “The unloved buckthorn is a beautiful wood with a red and red/pink color, sometimes with stripes. It is nice such an unloved plant can make such beautiful bowls.”
