Your favorite local artists, food & produce vendors at Opening Day!  Featuring Mississippi Hills and Red Sky Beads

Local farmers will be on hand with fresh-picked early salad greens, spinach, rhubarb, radishes, kale, green onions, a variety of bedding plants, goat milk soap, local honey, and flowers. Artisan foods include fresh-baked breads, delicious sweet and savory pastries, and locally roasted coffee. Veteran Riverwalk farm and food vendors on hand for opening day include Mississippi Hills CSA, Crack of Dawn Artisan Breads & Treats, Ruf Acres Farm, Schoolhouse Apiary, Ruthie’s Kitchen, and Martha’s Eats and Treats.

Watercolors, ceramics, fused glass art, turned wood, fiber art, and hand-crafted jewelry are among the art and fine crafts for sale on opening day. Many of Riverwalk Market Fair’s favorite artists are will be on hand to kick off the season, including Geralyn Thelen with fused glass plates, vases, and garden decorations; potters Barbara Zavaruha and Carla Kennedy; award-winning watercolorist Kathy Miller; jewelry and fiber artist Judy Saye-Willis, and many others.

For the past three years, Adam Weeks has been farming on land near Goodhue and selling his organic produce at Riverwalk Market Fair and through a 40-member CSA. Adam says, “I am truly passionate about what I do for a living. I have never woken up and not wanted to go to work since I started farming.”  This week Adam will have salsa, organic plants, salad mix, kale, Swiss chard, green onions, bok choy, rhubarb, and cilantro at his booth.

Becky Korbel’s love of nature inspires her handcrafted jewelry. Her earth-tone necklaces, bracelets, and earrings feature Czechoslovakian glass beads, wire-wrapped gemstones, and African Kuzuri beads.

While at Riverwalk Market Fair this Saturday, kids of all ages can visit Northfield Public Library’s library-on-wheels, Booker!

You’ll be able to check out books, magazines, and DVDs, and even get a library card at Booker!

About Riverwalk Market Fair

Riverwalk Market Fair is an open-air market located on Bridge Square in historic downtown Northfield. This one-of-a-kind European-style market is open Saturdays from June through October. Each Saturday features a different combination of sustainably grown produce from local farmers, artisan foods, seasonal flowers and a juried selection of the region’s top art and fine crafts including ceramics, art works, prints, wood working, fused glass, textiles, wearable art and hand-crafted jewelry.
