Riverwalk Market Fair: The art of a summer Saturday since 2010
Riverwalk Market Fair is an open-air Saturday market located along the beautiful Cannon River in historic Northfield, Minnesota. These summer Saturday festivals offer locally grown produce, artisan foods, and a juried selection of art work. Each Saturday provides a different mix of special events, musical entertainment and activities for the whole family.
Founded in 2010 by local artists and entrepreneurs with the help of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, this one-of-a-kind Saturday open-air market showcases produce from local farmers, artisan foods and a variety of fine art and fine craft by Northfield area artists. Originally started as a venue for local entrepreneurs to market their products, the Riverwalk Market Fair has become a valued community asset where local residents gather as well as a popular destination for visitors from the Twin Cities and the region.
Where and when:
Riverwalk Market Fair operates Saturdays from June through October (except for the weekend of Defeat of Jesse James Gang in September). The Fair is Located in the heart of downtown Northfield, Minnesota along the scenic Cannon River. Historic Northfield is located just six miles from Interstate 35 where State Highways 19 and 3 intersect (see driving directions below).
What to see at Riverwalk Market Fair:
Art and Fine Crafts: Paintings, prints, handmade jewelry, photography, ceramics, metal sculpture, wood creations, and wearable art.
Organic farm products: Vegetables, herbs, meats, honey, fruit, cut flowers, and eggs.
Locally produced goods: Alpaca wool knitted items, beeswax candles, wool yarn, and goats milk soaps.

Why visit Northfield?
Established in 1855, Northfield is an historic river town that has maintained its authentic 19th century limestone and brick buildings to evoke the era of its founding. Located along the banks of the Cannon River, Northfield is the site of the defeat of the Jesse James gang and home to St. Olaf and Carleton Colleges. Downtown shops offer unique clothing, jewelry, kitchenware, antiques, collectibles, crafts and gifts. Restaurants and one-of-a-kind eateries provide a casual yet sophisticated vibe.
Driving from the Twin Cities: Drive south on Interstate 35 to exit 69, Highway 19. Head east on Highway 19 for six miles until you reach Highway 3. Cross Highway 3 and park after the Cannon River bridge. Takes about 50 minutes.
Driving from Rochester: Take U. S. Highway 52 North to Highway 19 and go west to Northfield. Park downtown and walk west to the river. Takes about an hour.
